Bolsonaro's US Escape Flight Paid via American Bank Account
Flavio Bolsonaro's escape flight from Brazil to the United States was paid for via a US bank account by an intermediary, according to the Argentine airline boss who arranged the journey. The 45-year-old conservative senator, who disputes his October 25 election loss in Brazil, arrived in Florida on Wednesday with his family. The airline's owner, Luis Grande of Baires Fly, said he received $150,000 from a US-based broker he has known for ten years. US media report the plane was chartered by Jason Miller, a Donald Trump adviser. The case strains relations between Trump and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, whose victory was a surprise. Bolsonaro's passports were cancelled amid a money laundering investigation, and he has denounced alleged "electoral fraud" from exile, claims denied by Brazilian authorities.
