UAE Adviser: New Phase of Economic Pressure in Iran Conflict

The UAE's presidential diplomatic adviser, Dr. Anwar Gargash, stated that the war has entered a "new phase" following the US's intensified sanctions on Iran and countries trading with it. He said this phase will be marked by severe economic pressure and could end attempts to control the Strait of Hormuz. Gargash noted that Iran's attacks on Arab Gulf states were a mistaken strategic decision that increased its isolation and weakened its position. He reminded that the path out of war is not targeting Gulf countries but cooperating with them for de-escalation and political solutions. The UAE has halted all trade with Iran since August 18 and demands the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The US sanctions target five key sectors, while Iran claims it is prepared for a long-term confrontation.
