Houthi attack hits Saudi tanker in Red Sea, Bahri confirms

Saudi Arabia's national shipping company Bahri confirmed that its vessel, the Saudi Amzan, was attacked in the Red Sea on Monday, with all crew members safe and no injuries reported. The confirmation follows claims by Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis that they targeted a ship off the port city of Yanbu. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations agency reported that a tanker was struck by an unknown projectile 63 nautical miles west of Yanbu, with all crew safe and no environmental impact. Yanbu is Saudi Arabia's main Red Sea oil port, loading millions of barrels daily and serving as a key route avoiding the Strait of Hormuz. The Houthis declared a blockade on Saudi-linked vessels in the Red Sea last month, disrupting shipping from Yanbu. They have recently attacked Saudi oil facilities and claimed to have targeted Aramco facilities in Yanbu in July.
