US Warns Nations to Cut Iran Ties or Face Sanctions

The United States has issued an open warning to countries worldwide to cease activities supporting Iran within a set deadline or face sanctions. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced a major campaign targeting Iran's financial networks. The campaign aims to block Iran's revenue-generating paths and pressure countries and companies to reconsider business ties with Tehran. Entities assisting Iranian money laundering will be excluded from the US dollar system. New sanctions were imposed on nearly 60 Iran-linked organizations, individuals, and vessels. Iran's parliamentary speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf dismissed Washington's threats as mere "big talk," asserting that Iran's trading partners will not comply with US sanctions. The US has not specified the exact compliance deadline for other nations.
