Iran lists 45 ships for Strait of Hormuz violations; one-third already attacked

Iran has identified 45 ships for violating its transit rules in the Strait of Hormuz, warning of fines, seizures, or confiscations, with one-third already attacked during the first six months of the conflict. The Iranian maritime authority published the list Sunday, according to an AFP data analysis. At least 14 vessels were damaged in confirmed incidents, mostly near Oman's coast along a US-backed route Iran prohibits. Most are commodity carriers, some transiting up to 12 times. The PGSA, established in May, may add ships to the blacklist for transfers with listed vessels. Many listed ships are owned by Emirati companies, with most voyages ending or starting in UAE ports.
