US says Strait of Hormuz is de-mined and under Space Force watch
President Trump announced Tuesday that the Strait of Hormuz is fully de-mined and under constant surveillance by the US Space Force, warning that any new mines will be met with immediate destruction of the vessels placing them. The US Navy swept the waterway and removed or detonated existing mines, with over 100 suspected objects recovered from the middle lane, according to US officials. Private companies were contracted to assist, and Iran has been notified of the zero-tolerance policy. Oman announced it is working with Iran on a temporary joint navigation corridor and mine-clearing project, while the US maintains a naval blockade against Iranian ships. Oil exports continue flowing at over 8 million barrels daily.
