Iran and Oman agree on revenue sharing for Strait of Hormuz

Iran and Oman reached a revenue-sharing agreement on the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, announced by Iran's Revolutionary Guards, as negotiations continue on managing the strategic waterway. The agreement covers each country's share of waters and revenues, according to Guards spokesman Hossein Moheb, who said the US was obstructing talks. On Tuesday, both nations proposed a temporary shipping channel through Hormuz, including mine clearance, with officials aiming for a permanent corridor later. Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi expressed hope for a temporary corridor announcement, while Qatar supported the efforts. The deal follows US President Donald Trump's threat to attack Oman if it interfered with US operations in the waterway.
