Russian strike on Ukrainian aid center kills at least 40
At least 40 people were killed in a Russian attack on a humanitarian aid center in Ukraine, with many feared trapped under rubble. Rescue efforts are hampered by the constant threat of new strikes, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The attack occurred in Kamyshuvakha, about 20 kilometers from the front line. Footage from a killed police officer's body camera shows people seeking shelter underground before a second explosion hit the shelter. Zelenskyy stated that nine aerial bombs were dropped, also hitting a school building. Zelenskyy appealed for international support, specifically air defense systems, and held a detailed 90-minute call with US envoy Steve Witkoff. Representatives from the US, Ukraine, and Russia are scheduled to meet in Abu Dhabi next week for new peace negotiations.
