Kyiv stabilizes energy, water, and heating after Russian strikes
Kyiv has stabilized its situation after massive strikes on energy infrastructure, with water supply restored using backup power sources, according to acting deputy head of Kyiv City State Administration Petro Panteleev. To restore water supply, 104 generators were installed and 16 MW of additional generation capacity was built, though fully switching water systems to generators is impossible due to power requirements. The city is also connecting residential buildings to heating, with full system launch expected to take about 10 days across all districts. Reserve heating system work continues at 13 sites, with seven implemented by Kyiv and six by the Recovery Agency, including boilers, pumps, and new utility networks, targeted for completion by year-end. Tram and trolleybus service was temporarily suspended from November 3 due to the energy situation.
