Ukraine's power woes worsen as Russian strikes triple 2022 levels in three days

nv.ua (Ukrainian) —

DTEK reported on November 5 that worsening power supply in Ukraine is due to intensified Russian attacks on energy infrastructure and changed strike tactics. The company said Russia conducted 78 strikes on energy infrastructure in the last three days, exceeding the 11 mass attacks in 2022, targeting both power plants and transmission facilities. Repairs are complicated by constant air alerts and repeated strike threats. On November 3, Ukrenergo reported one of the largest Russian attacks, with over 20 targeted strikes in a day, causing emergency outages in Kyiv and other regions. Nuclear plants reduced generation on November 4, with gradual restoration expected.
