Kyiv's Air Defense Gaps Threaten Infrastructure Recovery, Klitschko Warns

rfi.fr (Ukrainian) —

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko warned that without reliable air defense coverage, the restoration and stable operation of the capital's key infrastructure facilities are in serious question. Klitschko stated that Kyiv is functioning under extremely difficult conditions due to intensified Russian attacks on energy, heating, and water supply systems. An energy headquarters has been working since spring, developing measures for various scenarios, though not all details can be disclosed publicly. The mayor emphasized that with the intensity of enemy attacks involving multiple missiles or drone swarms, no protective structures can cope without air defense systems. Heating points have been deployed for residents as Russia escalates strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure ahead of winter.
