Zelenskyy Responds to Kyiv Road Blockade Over Power Outage
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded on November 5 to Kyiv residents blocking a road the previous day due to a prolonged power outage, stating that repairs cannot be done in a sluggish manner. Zelenskyy said he spoke with the prime minister and called Interior Minister Vyhovskyi, who reported that police brought electricians to the site and restored power, after which the protesters dispersed. The president noted the energy facility lacked sufficient workers and praised the police response. Zelenskyy also criticized the management of Kyivvodokanal, saying it must work faster and that leadership changes should be made if necessary. He acknowledged that many power lines in Kyiv have been damaged by Russian strikes.
