Zelensky: Russia answers diplomacy with new attacks on civilians
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Russia used about 1,600 guided bombs, 48 missiles, and nearly 2,300 drones against Ukraine during the week of October 19-25, calling the attacks a response to diplomacy and sanctions relief. The strikes killed four people and wounded 22 in the Dnipropetrovsk region, including an 11-year-old girl, and hit a residential building in Vinnytsia, a Kharkiv hypermarket with a follow-up strike on rescuers, plus energy, coal, grain, and postal infrastructure across nine regions. Zelensky urged partners to maintain military support and unblock already-agreed European deliveries of Patriot interceptor missiles, emphasizing that such defense packages are critical for saving lives ahead of winter.
