Konotop enters fourth day without power after Russian strikes
The Ukrainian city of Konotop in Sumy Oblast remains without electricity for a fourth day following Russian strikes on October 24, with no forecasts for restoration, according to Mayor Artem Semenikhin. Most of the city is also without gas supply. Semenikhin stated that as of the night of October 27, the city is still without power, and most of it lacks gas. Educational facilities are damaged, the hospital operates on generators, and water is supplied on a schedule from 6:00 to 9:00 and 18:00 to 21:00. The mayor said there are no predictions for power restoration. Sumyoblenergo said emergency crews are continuously working to repair damaged energy infrastructure, but timelines depend on the security situation. This follows previous Russian attacks on Sumy on October 16 that injured seven people.
