Ukraine schedules hourly power outages for October 26 in some regions
Ukraine will impose hourly power outage schedules in some regions on Monday, October 26, affecting 1-2 groups of consumers from 6:00 AM to 11:59 PM, according to Ukrenergo. The restrictions are a consequence of massive Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, which have created a power deficit. Ukrenergo dispatchers issue commands for scheduled (GPV) or emergency (GAV) outages, with GPV being planned and predictable, while GAV are urgent disconnections needed within 3-15 minutes. Officials urge consumers to monitor regional distribution operator announcements and use electricity sparingly when available. Citizens are also advised to prepare emergency supplies like water, food, and power banks in advance for potential blackouts.
