Konotop remains without power for fourth day after Russian strikes
The Ukrainian city of Konotop in Sumy Oblast remains completely without electricity for the fourth day following Russian strikes on October 24, with no forecasts for power restoration available. Mayor Artem Semenikhin reported that as of the night of October 27, the city is still blacked out, and most of Konotop also lacks gas supply. Schools and even the local hospital are damaged, with the hospital operating on generators and water supplied only during limited morning and evening hours. Emergency crews from the regional energy provider are continuously working to repair damaged energy infrastructure, but timelines depend on the security situation. The October 24 drone attack also hit a school and private homes, and a separate strike killed a 31-year-old farm worker and wounded four others.
