Russian strikes cut power in six Ukrainian regions
Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure caused new power outages in six regions on Monday morning, Ukrenergo reported. Scheduled blackouts of up to 2.5 rounds will apply in some areas through the end of the day. Consumers in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions remain without electricity. Emergency repair work is underway where security conditions permit, and power restrictions will be introduced for industrial and all consumer categories to prevent equipment overload. Electricity consumption was 5.8% lower by 09:30 compared to the previous working day, but the evening peak exceeded last Sunday's by 4.8% due to colder weather. Ukrenergo urges limiting use of powerful appliances between 16:00 and 22:00.
