Russian strikes wound six in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia and Chernihiv regions
Russian strikes on Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia and Chernihiv regions injured six people overnight, regional officials reported Monday. The attacks targeted residential areas and infrastructure, with four wounded in Zaporizhzhia and two in Chernihiv. Russia's Defence Ministry said it struck power stations in Kharkiv and Khmelnitskiy regions, a warehouse, and port infrastructure in Chornomorsk, including a cargo vessel it claimed was used for military purposes. The strikes come amid ongoing cross-border attacks on energy facilities. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Kyiv would halt strikes on Russian oil refineries only if Moscow stopped hitting power infrastructure, or if the U.S. supplied Patriot missiles or allowed Starshield use over Russia. Washington has pressed Ukraine to suspend refinery strikes, citing high energy prices ahead of U.S. midterm elections.
