podrobnosti.ua (Ukrainian) —

Protests have resumed in France, with tens of thousands of people taking to the streets in Paris on October 17. Nationwide, over 150,000 participants are expected, and police used tear gas after protesters entered the Marseille city hall. The demonstrations are against the rising cost of living, for better school conditions, and for abolishing the current university admission system. Around 500 actions and 90 demonstrations are planned, involving students, "yellow vests," unions, and farmers, with nearly 300 arrests reported. The protests mark the fourth consecutive week of unrest, following a major demonstration on October 6 that drew between 250,000 and 450,000 people. Incidents include arson and clashes with police using water cannons.
