CGTP marches in Lisbon for higher wages and housing rights
The CGTP union began a march in Lisbon today demanding higher wages and housing policies, with protesters calling for better living conditions and dignified pay. The demonstration started after 3:00 PM from Cais de Sodré toward Rossio. The march, led by CGTP Secretary-General Tiago Oliveira, featured banners reading "More salary" and chants against rising living costs. It heads to Rossio for a 5:00 PM housing protest camp called "Não dá mais? Então monta a tua tenda!". The union demands higher salaries and pensions, better public services, and defends the SNS and Social Security. Similar demonstrations occurred this morning in Porto and Coimbra. In Porto, thousands marched, including about 100 young housing activists who received applause upon arrival at Praça D. João I.
