Xi Jinping: Talks with Trump Were Sincere and Deep
Chinese President Xi Jinping said his talks with President Trump were sincere and deep, with mutual understanding reached on many issues. The remarks were broadcast on the White House YouTube channel. Xi stated the dialogue enriched constructive and stable strategic relations between Beijing and Washington, providing new strategic direction. He also called the new trade agreement between the two countries good news for the global economy. Trump met Xi at the plane steps on September 24 as the Chinese leader arrived for an official visit. The two leaders last held talks on May 14–15 in Beijing, which Trump described as an "incredible visit" that produced many economic agreements. Trump had earlier outlined the key topic for the talks with Xi.
