Xi to visit Washington without Chinese business delegation over military-link concerns

Chinese President Xi Jinping will travel to Washington this week without the Chinese business delegation Beijing had planned to bring, according to two sources familiar with the matter. The trip includes a White House state dinner with President Donald Trump on Thursday. Reuters reported last week that China was finalizing a group of business leaders for the visit, potentially including firms under US regulatory scrutiny. One source said the White House had other priorities, while another cited US concerns over companies believed to have military links. A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said she lacked relevant information, and the White House did not comment. US executives expected at the state dinner include Amazon's Jeff Bezos, Apple's Tim Cook, Tesla's Elon Musk, Nvidia's Jensen Huang, and Meta's Mark Zuckerberg, among others. The absence of the Chinese delegation was not officially explained.
