Xi in Washington: US-China cooperation key to solving global issues

Chinese President Xi Jinping, visiting the United States, said that while US-China cooperation cannot solve all global problems, failing to cooperate will make many issues difficult to resolve. Speaking at a state welcome ceremony at the White House in Washington DC on September 24, Xi emphasized bilateral cooperation and expressed readiness to work with President Donald Trump to steer the US-China relationship steadily toward the future. Xi proposed that both militaries maintain dialogue and enhance crisis communication mechanisms, welcomed American investment in China, and expressed hope that Chinese companies would receive fair treatment in the US.
