Spanish prosecutors seek detention of six minors over Barcelona riots
Spanish prosecutors have requested the detention of six minors in a juvenile detention center following Saturday's riots and robberies in Barcelona, citing the severity of their crimes and risk of reoffending. Authorities have made 130 arrests so far, including 76 minors. The prosecutor also imposed a precautionary measure barring over 20 arrested minors from attending gatherings or demonstrations. Most of the 54 adults arrested have begun appearing before the duty court to answer for vandalism, attacks on police lines, and looting of shops. Police investigations remain open, including tracking protest organizers through social media and phone groups. A joint Mossos team is analyzing images and evidence, with nearly 450 police identifications considered key to attributing suspects to incidents. Interior Minister Núria Parlon called the events unprecedented and urged parents to take responsibility for their children's actions.
