Italy Isolates Violent Protesters, Minister Warns No Impunity
Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi stated that violent protesters have been isolated and contained, warning that there is no room for impunity in Italy. He emphasized that those who choose violence will face legal responsibility. Piantedosi praised police forces for their professional handling of recent demonstrations, including identifying the alleged organizer of the "17 October" movement. He stressed that the right to protest is constitutionally protected, but abusing it through illegal acts carries consequences. The minister expressed gratitude to all state security personnel, including police, Carabinieri, and firefighters, calling them "the best face of our Republic." He also specifically commended postal police and Digos investigators for their investigative work.
