dn.pt (Portuguese) —

Amnesty International has condemned police actions during protests in Lisbon and Porto, citing "excessive and disproportionate use of force" that left dozens injured and 31 detained. The human rights group, whose observers witnessed the incident, is investigating the dispersal of camps in Praça D. Pedro IV and Praça D. João I. Executive director João Godinho Martins called for an urgent investigation, stating police violated international obligations. The PSP reported 11 injured and 31 detained during tent removal operations. Amnesty described the actions as "a new low for protest rights" in Portugal, urging authorities to prevent further rights violations.
