Turin police clash with protesters in Piazza Castello
Tensions escalated in Turin when police blocked protesters gathered in Piazza Castello from advancing toward Via Po, dispersing them with a brief charge using shields and batons. Police had directed participants toward the city's northern area via the Royal Gardens. The protest's opening banner read "We won't pay for war, Turin is against rearmament, no datacenters and expensive gasoline," with chants including "Tout le monde déteste la police." Turin's police chief Massimo Gambino was present at the scene, and after the initial charge, protesters and officers separated. Two further clearing charges allowed police to advance several meters, with autonomous groups leading the march with uncovered faces. Families and students also participated in the demonstration.
