US and China agree to create AI incident communication channel

The leaders agreed to use the term "Super Intelligence" instead of AI, with the next exchange scheduled by November. Trump stated before the summit that SI would be a major discussion topic, while Xi emphasized the need to manage superpower rivalry and keep AI under human control. The agreement comes amid growing concerns about AI safety, highlighted by recent resignations such as Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon's departure over AI fears. The new communication channel aims to address these challenges through bilateral cooperation.
