Trump Shows Xi Marine One Helicopter at White House

President Trump gave Chinese President Xi Jinping a tour of the new helicopter landing pad on the White House South Lawn and invited him aboard Marine One. The helicopter remained on the ground and did not take off. The two leaders boarded the VH-92A Patriot helicopter after a 90-minute Oval Office meeting on September 24, accompanied by aides and interpreters. Trump told reporters Xi was very interested in the granite pad, and he also showed Xi photos in the West Wing, including one from Trump's May visit to Beijing. Xi arrived in Washington on September 23 for his first state visit to the US in 11 years. During their talks, Xi emphasized China's position on Taiwan and called for dialogue between the US and Iran, while also stating the two countries reached a new common understanding on trade.
