Trump gets China's assurance it won't support Iran, US envoy says

President Donald Trump warned Chinese President Xi Jinping against supporting Iran during talks in Washington this week and received assurances that China would not do so, the US ambassador to China said on Friday. A senior Iranian official said China assured Iran it will not limit economic, political, or military ties under US pressure. Reuters reported Iran expected up to 400 Chinese-made missile launchers, and used barter arrangements to bypass sanctions on oil purchases.
