US President Donald Trump has initiated trilateral arms control talks between the US, China, and Russia, according to a White House statement following Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit. Trump and Xi discussed geopolitical issues including Russia, North Korea, and Iran, agreeing that Iran must never possess nuclear weapons. The leaders also agreed to support each other's G20 and APEC presidencies. Xi began his three-day US visit on September 23, his first state visit since 2015.
