U.S. President Donald Trump announced two additional meetings with Chinese leader Xi Jinping this year, following Xi's state visit to Washington. Trump stated on Truth Social that the meeting symbolized friendship and success, and announced a November meeting in Shenzhen, China, during the APEC summit, followed by a December meeting at the G20 summit in Miami, Florida. Xi's September 23-25 visit was his first U.S. state visit since 2015. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had asked Trump to urge Xi to influence Russian President Vladimir Putin toward ending or de-escalating the war.
