French election poll: Le Pen leads, three-way battle for second place

lalibre.be (French) —

A new poll shows Marine Le Pen would win the first round of the French presidential election with 31-33.5% of the vote, six months before the ballot. Three candidates are competing for second place behind Le Pen. Édouard Philippe would get 15.5-16.5% only if Gabriel Attal does not run; otherwise, Philippe drops to 9.5-10.5%. Raphaël Glucksmann has risen to 15-16.5%, and Jean-Luc Mélenchon holds 15-16%. The poll projects Le Pen winning the runoff against any opponent: 52.5% versus Philippe, 53.5% versus Glucksmann, and 69% versus Mélenchon. Other candidates trail below 10%, including Bruno Retailleau, Marine Tondelier, Éric Zemmour, and Natacha Polony.
