France is reeling from its most severe civil unrest in decades, with nationwide protests against the cost of living and education issues escalating into riots that have caused hundreds of millions of euros in damage. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez reported 110 marches drawing up to 800,000 participants, with violence erupting as radical groups joined. At least 2,000 people were arrested, over 600 officers injured, and cities including Paris and Limoges saw buildings burned and stores looted.
