Vance blames immigration for France protests, warns Americans of similar unrest
US Vice President J.D. Vance has blamed liberal immigration policies in Europe for the violent protests in France, saying Western liberals ignored warnings about assimilation and cultural compatibility. He also warned Americans that Democrats want to lead the country into a similar situation. Vance made the remarks in a post on X, alongside a video of a burning city hall in France. He said immigrants from third-world countries were imported without considering how they would assimilate. The protests in France were sparked by concerns over education, employment, and public spending, with reports of 550,000 participants nationwide. The unrest has seen public buildings attacked and set on fire, with shops and restaurants targeted in Paris and showrooms of brands like Apple and Louis Vuitton looted in Bordeaux. Protests have also occurred in Albania, Belgium, and Portugal over various demands.
