European cities see second day of violent protests and looting
Violent protests and looting continued across Europe on Sunday, with fresh clashes reported in Paris, Milan, and other cities following a Saturday marked by widespread unrest and hundreds of arrests. In Paris, police mobilized the specialized CRS8 unit for a second day, deploying tear gas to disperse hundreds of protesters at the Place de la République. New looting was reported, including a clothing store, while authorities conducted security operations to prevent an unauthorized march. The weekend violence in France resulted in 2,397 arrests and nearly 1,000 police officers injured, with protests against the rising cost of living affecting 1,500 businesses. Similar unrest occurred in Albania, Italy, and Belgium, while over 3,000 people marched in Tunisia against economic hardship and eroding freedoms.
