Canada Retaliates With 15-50% Tariffs on U.S. Goods After Trump's Levies

Canada imposed retaliatory tariffs Tuesday on about $20 billion worth of American goods, escalating a trade war with the U.S. after Washington levied 50% tariffs on Canadian products over the weekend. The new duties, effective Sept. 8, range from 15% to 50% on over 700 items. Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne said Canada "did not choose this conflict" but must stand up when economic integration is weaponized.
