Brazil court extends runoff voting between Lula and Bolsonaro
Brazil's Supreme Court ordered voting extended by two hours nationwide in Sunday's presidential runoff between conservative Flavio Bolsonaro and leftist President Lula, after Lula's campaign alleged voters were being blocked from reaching polls. Judge Cristiano Zanin issued the order following a complaint that buses were removed from circulation in cities like Sao Paulo and Salvador de Bahia. The extension applied only to polling stations not yet closed when the decision was made, causing confusion as some had already begun counting. Lula, who turns 81 next week, trailed with 45% to Bolsonaro's 47% in the first round. The election will determine if Brazil remains a leftist stronghold or joins the regional rightward shift. Bolsonaro's camp also sought extensions in two states due to heavy rain.
