Brazil's Court Extends Voting in Lula-Bolsonaro Runoff

lesoir.be (French) —

Brazil's judiciary ordered voting extended by two hours nationwide in Sunday's presidential runoff between conservative Flavio Bolsonaro and leftist President Lula, after Lula's campaign alleged voters were being blocked from reaching polls. Supreme Court Justice Cristiano Zanin issued the ruling. Lula's camp claims buses were removed from circulation in cities including São Paulo and Salvador de Bahia. Bolsonaro's campaign separately requested extensions in two states due to heavy rains. Lula trailed Bolsonaro 45% to 47% in the first round. Recent polls show Bolsonaro at 51% against Lula's 49%, within the margin of error.
