Lula beats Bolsonaro among European voters in Brazil's 2026 runoff
Incumbent President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva defeated Senator Flávio Bolsonaro among Brazilian voters in Europe in the second round of Brazil's 2026 election, securing 141,263 votes (59.66%) to Bolsonaro's 95,499 (40.34%), according to electoral bulletins from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). Lula won in most European countries with polling stations, while Bolsonaro prevailed in Greece and led in Ukraine, where results were still pending but insufficient to change the continental outcome. Both candidates increased their totals compared to the first round, when Lula received 95,442 votes and Bolsonaro 48,874. The results largely mirrored the 2022 runoff, with Lula maintaining strong support in countries like Portugal, France, and Denmark, while Bolsonaro's strongest performance came in Greece, where he also won in the previous election.
