Zelenskyy asks Trump to enlist China's help to end Russia's invasion

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Friday he asked U.S. President Donald Trump to press China's leader to use Beijing's influence over Moscow to help end Russia's 4½-year invasion of Ukraine, with no White House feedback yet received. Zelenskyy, in the U.S. for the U.N. General Assembly, met Trump on Tuesday and shared details of his trip via voice messages. NATO has called China a "decisive enabler" of Russia's invasion, while Washington pushes for technical talks among U.S., Ukrainian, and Russian delegations, possibly in the UAE. Zelenskyy also discussed U.S. sanctions on Russia awaiting implementation, Patriot missile licenses, Black Sea shipping safety, and budget support from the IMF and EU. Overnight Russian attacks killed four in Ukraine, including a 14-year-old in Kyiv, while Russia reported one dead from Ukrainian strikes.
