Trump and Zelensky agree on Ukraine peace roadmap at UN talks

President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky agreed on a three-point peace roadmap for Ukraine during bilateral talks on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York on Friday. The roadmap includes a ceasefire on energy infrastructure, the reopening of the Black Sea grain corridor, and a potential trilateral meeting between the US, Russia, and Ukraine, possibly in Abu Dhabi. Zelensky stated Kyiv is ready to accept the energy ceasefire and a trilateral format, while US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed both Russia and Ukraine want a truce on grain and energy, though he noted the differing targets make an energy truce difficult. Zelensky also said Trump approved the production of advanced Patriot air defense missiles. The US will present the roadmap to Russia, while Kyiv will discuss it with European allies, with a status update expected in about ten days. A trilateral leader-level meeting at December's G20 summit in Miami is considered unlikely.
