Zelenskyy asks Trump to enlist China's help to end Russia's invasion

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Friday he asked U.S. President Donald Trump to press China's leader to use Beijing's influence over Moscow to end Russia's 4½-year invasion, and he awaits feedback from Trump's talks with Xi Jinping. Zelenskyy, visiting the U.S. during the U.N. General Assembly, met Trump on Tuesday and detailed Washington's push for trilateral technical talks with Russia, possibly in the UAE, plus his thanks for a U.S. sanctions bill and Trump's approval for Ukraine to produce Patriot systems. NATO calls China a "decisive enabler" of Russia's war. Zelenskyy also discussed Black Sea shipping with India, Turkey, and Egypt, sought IMF and EU budget aid, and reported five Ukrainian deaths from overnight strikes, including a Kyiv boy.
