Trump says time to teach Canada a lesson as trade talks collapse

U.S. President Donald Trump said Wednesday it is "time to teach Canada you can't do this anymore," days after trade talks between the neighboring countries collapsed. Trump made the remarks in an interview with Glenn Beck, claiming he had a "pretty good deal" and that Canada has nothing the U.S. needs. He imposed new 50% tariffs on $20 billion of Canadian imports Saturday after negotiations failed. Canada retaliated Tuesday with matching tariffs on about $20 billion of U.S. annual imports and announced aid for businesses and workers affected by the dispute.
