Trump announces Ukraine deal after meeting with Russian envoy, says it will affect all of Europe
US President Donald Trump announced a deal on Ukraine following a meeting with Russian Direct Investment Fund head Kirill Dmitriev, saying it could affect all of Europe. Trump declined to disclose details but promised "everyone will be delighted." Dmitriev visited Washington at the invitation of First Lady Melania Trump for a meeting on a humanitarian mission in Alyoshki. Trump did not meet with Ukrainian delegation representatives. Jared Kushner, involved in negotiations, said Washington is focused on building a broader security architecture to prevent conflict resumption. A new round of trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine, and the US is scheduled for November 10-11 in Abu Dhabi. A temporary ceasefire in the Alyoshki area operated from October 27 to November 1, during which nearly 800 people were evacuated.
