Zelenskyy honors Melania Trump for role in Oleshky truce and humanitarian aid
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has awarded US First Lady Melania Trump the Order of Princess Olga, First Class, for her role in brokering a partial ceasefire that enabled civilian evacuations from the Russian-occupied town of Oleshky. The decree, published Wednesday, cited her "significant personal contribution to humanitarian support for Ukraine" and charitable work. Melania Trump announced the localised truce last month, facilitating the evacuation of nearly 800 residents from the southern frontline town after weeks of food and medicine shortages. Ukraine has since accused Russia of exploiting the truce to strengthen its military position, while the Kremlin called such adjustments "standard practice". Separately, Ukraine dismissed two senior security officials linked to an anti-corruption probe, and Zelenskyy visited Madrid to seek fresh military support.
