Zelensky and US Envoys Hold 90-Minute Call, Prepare Trilateral Talks
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a 90-minute call with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, preparing a trilateral meeting between Ukraine, the US, and Russia within a week. Kushner praised Zelensky's "constructive engagement" in seeking a lasting peace. Zelensky reported the detailed conversation on X, stating teams are preparing for the trilateral format. He also mentioned a Brussels meeting on postwar reconstruction and upcoming security guarantee talks. Ukraine's acting ambassador urged continued bipartisan US support, citing recent Russian attacks as proof Moscow isn't seeking an end to the conflict. Zelensky awarded US First Lady Melania Trump the Order of Princess Olga, first class, for her role in a partial ceasefire that enabled civilian evacuations from Russian-occupied Oleshky. She also facilitated the repatriation of Ukrainian children from Russia and will host representatives from both sides in Washington.
