Zelensky and Umerov hold talks with US envoys and European partners on security guarantees
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke with US President Donald Trump's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner ahead of a trilateral Ukraine-US-Russia meeting scheduled for November 10-11 in Abu Dhabi. The talks focused on accelerating peace negotiations to end the Russian war. Zelensky conveyed Ukraine's positions to Washington during the 1.5-hour call, prioritizing air defense systems and drone deals with the US. Meanwhile, Ukrainian negotiator Rustem Umerov held meetings in Brussels on November 4 with American, EU, NATO, World Bank, and business representatives, as well as France, Germany, and Britain, discussing Ukraine's postwar reconstruction and a 10-year Prosperity Plan. Umerov also addressed Ukraine's 2027 financing needs and budget deficit with partners. The Brussels meetings continue work from previous negotiations in Florida and Oslo. On November 5, a White House event on humanitarian missions in occupied Oleshky will feature Ukrainian officials Arakhamia and Lubinets.
