Trump: Both Sides Ready to Say 'Let's Make a Deal' on Ukraine-Russia Talks
President Donald Trump stated in a Financial Times interview that both Russia and Ukraine are ready to say "let's make a deal" regarding negotiations to end the war, expressing optimism about progress in peace talks. Trump said he does not believe the US is at war with Iran as it is with Ukraine, or in conflicts like the World Wars, while adding he views the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia as moving forward. However, Ukrainian negotiators reportedly do not share Trump's optimism. US special envoy Steve Witkoff announced trilateral talks will occur next week in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with Russian delegation head Vladimir Medinsky attending November 10-11. Ukrainian President Zelensky previously noted Russia appears serious about the meeting, though he stated at a Berlin security conference that a peaceful, united Europe is Russia's enemy.
