Melania Trump reveals number rescued from Oleshky
First Lady Melania Trump announced that approximately 800 people were rescued during a humanitarian mission from the temporarily occupied city of Oleshky. She made the statement during an event at the White House with Ukrainian and Russian representatives. The evacuation was conducted under a temporary ceasefire brokered by the United States, allowing residents to leave for both Ukrainian-controlled and Russian-controlled territories. Ukrainian ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets had previously stated that both sides agreed not to officially disclose the number of evacuees. The mission prepared 25 buses with 750 seats, and Ukrainian data from mid-October indicated about 1,700 people remained in Oleshky. The event included Ukrainian officials Lubinets and David Arakhamia, alongside Russian representatives Yana Lantratova and Kirill Dmitriev.
